YOUR MOVIE NIGHT, YOUR BUSINESS

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 6 October 2026

You do not need an account or email address to use this website.

Preferences and discovery requests

Your chosen filters and recently shown movie identifiers are sent to this website’s server to find an unseen recommendation. The server keeps this history only for the request. It requests catalog pages and movie metadata from Cinemeta and language facts from Wikidata. Your full browsing history is not forwarded to either provider.

Session storage

The finder saves shown movie identifiers in your browser’s session storage under bmr-seen. Up to the most recent 1,000 identifiers are used in each live discovery request. You can clear the history with the session restart option or your browser’s site-data settings. If storage is unavailable, the page keeps temporary history in memory.

The five-film showcase stores the most recent row’s identifiers underbmr-featured to avoid repeating those films on the next visit or shuffle. Those identifiers are sent to this website’s featured-picks endpoint as exclusions. Clearing your browser’s site data removes them.

Light and dark mode

Your theme choice is stored in your browser under bmr-theme. On a first visit, the site follows your device setting. This preference is not sent to our server. Clearing website data removes it.

Streaming country

Each page starts with United States selected. Country choices apply to the current page and are not saved or sent to our server. Older saved country preferences are ignored. Opening a JustWatch lookup shares the movie title and selected country with JustWatch, which has its own privacy practices.

External services and caches

Cinemeta and Wikidata receive the server’s network requests for public metadata. The server briefly caches public movie data to reduce repeated requests. Movie posters may load from images.metahub.space, image.tmdb.org or m.media-amazon.com, which receive normal browser network information including your IP address. Fonts are served locally.

Retention and your controls

Session history remains in your browser for its session lifetime or until you clear it. Your theme choice remains until changed or removed through site-data settings. Public movie data is cached for up to 30 minutes and language queries for up to 24 hours; caches do not store your session history. The recommendation request counter uses one-minute windows. Hosting log retention depends on the hosting provider.

You can clear website data in your browser, change the theme, or restart session picks when the finder offers that option. Blocking browser storage prevents preferences from being saved. For privacy enquiries, use Contact Us.

Contact messages

If you contact us by email, we receive the information you choose to include, such as your email address and message. We use it to respond to your enquiry and address the issue. Email is handled by the relevant email providers under their own policies. Do not send passwords, payment details or unnecessary sensitive information.

Hosting and logs

The server uses a temporary per-IP request counter to limit excessive traffic. Your hosting provider may keep standard request logs. This application contains no analytics scripts or advertising trackers. External websites linked from it have their own privacy practices.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the website or its data practices change. The last-updated date above identifies the current version. See our Terms & Conditions for website usage information.
